- Creation of the Asia-Pacific Division

2008 :


- Acquisition of Ascor Chimici in Italy
- Creation of a development unit in Canada
- Acquisition of Viavet in Scandinavia
- Launch of Vetprofen® (anti-inflammatory)
- Launch of Rubénal (nephrology)


2007 :


- Vétoquinol Unipessoal Lda created, 17th subsidiary of the group in Portugal.
- Launch of Alfaxan® (anesthetic)


2006 :


- Vétoquinol’s presence on Asian market expanded with the acquisition of its South Korean distributor, Semyung Vet.
- Stock exchange listing, in the Eurolist market of Euronext Paris (Compartment B, mnemonics: VETO ; ISIN code FR0004186856).
- Acquisition of Vet Solutions, American independent veterinary company located in Fort Worth, Texas (United States)


2005 :


Launch of Clavaseptin®, a palatable antibiotic for dogs and cats.


2004 :


- Sales office opened in Shanghai, China. Biological research discontinued. Vétoquinol concentrates on developing curative products.
- Debut of company’s new strapline: "Sign of Passion"


2003 :


- International launch of Propalin®, treatment for urinary incontinence in ovariectomised bitches. Marbocyl® is supplied in palatable tablets form.
- New research and development centre opens.


2002 :


- Vétoquinol moves into the international market for the first time with the acquisition of Evsco and Tomlyn ranges in the USA.
- Launch of Prilium®, the 1st liquid ACE inhibitor for heart failure in dogs demonstrates new service levels to veterinarians including innovative drug development, first international scientific symposium and prescription training.


2001 :


- Vétoquinol acquires Swiss group Chassot and expands its nutraceuticals range.
- Launches Aurizon®, a treatment for otitis in dogs.


1999 :


Following acquisition of Webster in Canada, Vétoquinol is confirmed as a market leader.


1998 :


Takeover of MECA in Germany.


1995 :


In Europe, Vétoquinol launches Marbocyl®, a high quality antibiotic researched by Vétoquinol. Within three years, it becomes a major product in the market.


1994 :


Acquisition of Immunovet in the USA.


1992 :


Vétoquinol Mexico founded. Vétoquinol North America buys Austin and Dispar in Canada.


1991 :


Vétoquinol acquires Antibioticos Pharma Vet in Spain, renamed Vétoquinol Especialidades Veterinarias.


1990 :


Vétoquinol acquires Univet in the UK and founds Vétoquinol North America, Canada. They in turn acquire Multivet and MVE.


1987 :


Vétoquinol launches Tolfedine®, an anti-inflammatory set to become the French market leader and acquires Psyphac in Belgium.


1984 :


Galvet Ltd founded in Ireland.


1980 :


R&D centre opened to provide technical support for Vétoquinol.


1977 :


Vetam, the first overseas subsidiary, founded in the Netherlands.


1975 :


New French laws introduced for veterinary products. Vétoquinol adapts to these becoming increasingly professionally aware.


1962 :


Becomes "Vétoquinol S.A" , exclusively devoted to animal health. Facilities transfer from Lure, Haute Saône to Magny-Vernois. Étienne Frechin, son of Joseph Frechin and our current President, joins the company.


1956 :


Production of medicines for human use is discontinued.


1933 :


- Joseph Frechin founds the Laboratoires Biochimiques de l’Est, for human products, in Lure, Haute-Saone.
- He develops the first quinoline-based veterinary product: Vétoquinol.
